Arion Elessedil

Arion Elessedil was the oldest son of Eventine Elessedil.

Arion was a superb athlete and an accomplished weapons master, hunter and horseman. He rode a grey stallion.⁴The Elfstones of Shannara – p 25

He and Ander Elessedil were once close, however after the death of Aine Elessedil and with Amberle Elessedil turning to Ander rather than Arion for support, Arion’s jealousy turned to contempt. After Amberle forsook her duties as a Chosen, he blamed Ander’s influence and his contempt turned into hatred.⁵The Elfstones of Shannara – pp 26-27

Arion left for the Sarandanon to attempt to settle down the people in some farming communities who were stirred up over what he considered to be an old fairy tale.⁶The Elfstones of Shannara – p 25-26

After the death of Aine, he and Ander made a pact to protect Amberle.

Chosen Part 1

At the ceremony for the new Chosen, Arion made it clear he was not happy about Ander’s deception (he had claimed to be teaching her fencing) or that Amberle was now a Chosen. He claimed she had embarrassed their father and invoked their brother’s name in an attempt to make Ander feel guilty.
