The Sword of Leah was the birthright of the Princes of Leah.¹The Sword of Shannara – p 87 It was to be held by the heir-apparent to the throne of Leah.

The High Druid’s Blade

Its metal blade, leather pommel and strap-on sheath were all as black as night. Its markings indicated the pommel leather and sheath had been replaced many times but the blade was the original.

The Sword had been replaced by another by the time of The Wishsong of Shannara.

The Wishsong of Shannara

Rone Leah had always admired the blade that had once belonged to his great-grandfather Menion Leah so his father gave it to him as a small symbol of his standing as a Prince of Leah.

Until then the Sword of Leah had been just a standard weapon. However, in response to the constant doubt and questioning from Rone, Allanon infused the sword with magic at the Hadeshorn to give him the power to protect Brin Ohmsford and stand as Allanon’s equal. The sword was then effective against magic.

The sword now hung over the hearth in the Leah home. Chrysallin Leah had found it in the attic and claimed it for herself.
