Rocs

Rocs first appeared in The Elfstones of Shannara.

Rocs were coastal birds, who would only travel inland if they were being ridden by a Wing Rider.

Ate meat and would hunt on their own. Only required food once every seven days.

Rocs were the natural enemies of War Shrikes.

In battle the Rocs best chance was to gain height and distance. In a short race the War Shrikes had the advantage.¹Morgawr – p 25
