Malg Swamp

Malg Swamp lay on the eastern border of the Skull Kingdom.¹The Sword of Shannara – p 645 A dismal, sprawling bog. Gloomy and had a foetid stench. Colourless weeds that grew and died within a day floated in loose patches on the surface. The water was shallow. The earth below had turned into mud and quicksand and anything that came within its grip was sucked quickly from sight. The Malg was said to be bottomless. Small bits of solid earth and the skeletons of dying trees could be seen but even these were fading slowly from sight.²The Sword of Shannara – p 645 No living creature had ever successfully traversed the Malg Swamp.³The Sword of Shannara – p 645
