Description

Windows ran the length of both front walls, the windows were lined with booths – red leather 50s style banquettes re-upholstered and re-stitched. Further in there was a L shaped counter with stools, and there was a scattering of tables in between.1Running with the Demon – p 39

Fresh baked goods were displayed in a glass case at the end of the counter. Coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, tea and soft drinks were also sold. Breakfast was sold at any time, and lunch was available until three when the kitchen closed. Takeaway was also available. Josie’s had the best daytime food in town and most people went there at least once or twice a week.2Running with the Demon – p 39

Alternate Appearance

Before arriving in Hopewell, John Ross dreamt of what the town may appear like in the future. The sign still hung over the entryway, but the enamel was faded and broken. The furniture and pastry cases were all smashed, the cookware broken and the leather banquettes shredded. Dust covered the counter top and rubbish was strewn all over the ruined floor with weeds poking out between the tiles.3Running with the Demon – p 2
