Cass Minter

Cass Minter was one of Nest Freemark’s group of friends.

Cass was a big, heavyset girl. A round cheerful face. Intelligent green eyes. Always wore jeans with a loose-fitting shirt. Lank brown hair that looked like it had never been brushed.

Lived in a rambling two-storey house on Spring Drive.

Best and oldest friend to Nest Freemark; they had been friends since second grade.

A Knight of the Word

Remained Nest’s best and closest friend throughout high school. She had planned on going to the University of Illinois to study genetics, but two weeks before graduation she died in her sleep from an aneurysm.
